No gage, No feedback, Windows7

Post by Levi » Sun Aug 15, 2010 7:35 pm

I'm trying to figure out how to get the trim gage up and to get the FF to work.

Windows7

C:/Program Files/FSForce2 doesn't show the FSForce2.cfg file, also doesn't show GroundOps folder. Tried putting it in by pasting it from the temporary folder but no luck.

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Gauges does have an FSForce file in there.

Test works well on g940.

FSX prompts me to allow exe and dll files to run, so i know they are running.

But there is no trim gage, and the feedback comes around only when enabling microsoft's Force Feedback - very jerky.

Help!

You should be able to find the FSForce.cfg file under C:\ProgramData\FS Force.

You should also find the file FSForce.cab in the FSX gauges subfolder. If it is not there, the program did not install correctly. Use the following steps:
  • 1. Download the zip file
    2. Extract to a temporary location
    3. Double-click Setup.exe and perform the install
    4. Delete the temporary folder

I have uninstalled it all, extracted to a tmp folder, and reinstalled. I deleted the contence of the temperary folder.

C:/Program Files/FS Force 2 does not have a cfg file. It also doesn't have any Ground Ops Folder. I Checked the Gages file in FSX. Yes, the cab file is there.

Next, I click on profile manager. A window comes up, my joystick is tested, activation is completed, and everything seems fine.

Next, I start FSX. there is no ground vibration at all. The G940 feels mushy, just the way it felt without FSForce. There is no trim gage, even when I roll my trim wheel. However, in the dropdown menu, under "view," i see an option to display FS trim gage. I make sure to check it, but still no trim gage.

I Forgot to mention:

It was installed into

C:\Program Files\FS Force 2

not

C:\ProgramData\FS Force

could that be the problem?

I think you read my post a little too quickly. Go back and read it again. It doesn't matter where you install FS Force, the .cfg file will always be placed in C:\ProgramData\FS Force. Go and look in that folder and see if it is there.

Probably the reason you're not seeing the trim gauge is because you haven't yet configured FS Force to recognize your trim wheel. Please read the Getting Startedsection of the help file for instructions.

Also, please test the FF functions of your joystick by using the diagnostic program located here : http://www.fs-force.com/support.htm#ForceTest

I seem to be having the same problem, on XP. What ServicePack was he referring to? Windows? FSX? FSForce?

Please, I'm getting desperate.

I'm pretty sure he was referring to the FSX SP1
