AP Follow often causes loss of control on disconnect

Post by MarkH » Mon Mar 14, 2016 11:03 pm

Iris Dragonfly yoke / FSX.

AP follow appears to work. The 'yoke offset' issue occurs as described and is usually small, fixed with a yoke reset' button I have mapped. BUT often when I switch the AP off I have a very large forward trim (e.g. -99) and the aircraft immediately nose-dives. This happens maybe 50% of the time. It happens with the default Cessna 172 as well as with my addon aircraft (Aerosoft Twin Otter, BN-2 Islander). If I leave the AP follow off I don't get the problem.

Are you using FSUIPC for your elevator & aileron assignments? If so, that could be the cause of this issue. If you want to use the AP Follow feature, aileron, elevator and all trim commands/buttons/wheels need to be programmed via the P3D Settings-Controls screen.

Yes, I was doing this. I have changed the elevator axis to be controlled by FSX and that seems to have sorted the problem.

Thanks.
