Massive problems with FSForve in P3Dv2.2

Post by kdl » Thu Jul 10, 2014 5:42 pm

Hello,

I have installed both, FSX+acc and P3Dv2.2 ( + latest hotfix), on different harddisks (not on C:\drive), running under Win7 64 bit.
I'm using the old MS Sidwinder FF 2 USB.
I bought and activated FSForce in both simulators successfully. I don't have any problems running in FSX.
However in P3Dv2.2 I'm experiencing massive problems. After starting P3D a first window comes up:
"A fatal error occured", and finally:
"FSFORCE.DLL has not been loaded by FSX. FS Force will be disabled.
Run Profile Manager, click on the Options tab, and make sure the DLL is being launched."

That's what I did many times, but no success. P3Dv2.2 ends.

I also wonder why it's said "FSFORCE.DLL has not been loaded by FSX" instead of P3D?

Btw, when I use the "prompt" instead of "auto" lauch possibility (P3D is attempting to start FS Force...) problems are the same.

I kindly ask for help.

Dieter

I did some testing back in April when v2.2 came out, and FS Force worked fine.

Are you saying there have been some hotfixes released since 2.2? I was just on the LM website and could not find anything about recent hotfixes. If there have been some released, could you please provide a link.

Are you saying that P3D is crashing? Please clarify.

Please open up Windows Event Viewer and look for any application crashes, to find out exactly what is happening.

The module that actually crashed was a2a_feel.dll. I take it you have some addons from a2a? have you tried disabling them to see if that makes a difference?

Yes, I have A2A software installed:
- Cessna 172
- Piper Cherokee
both P3Dv2.2 versions, but the problem is:
- A2A Accu-Feel (A2A_Feel.dll)
That's what I was afraid of when I read the application error file.
After deactivating this the problem has disappeared.

Nevertheless let me ask a question:
- Is there any chance to get Accu-Feel run together with FS Force?

You'll have to contact A2A, since it is their software that is crashing.

It's a small chance, but you could try changing the load order of addons in C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\DLL.XML, assuming that a2a_feel.dll gets loaded from there. If A2A is loading first, change it so FS Force loads first, and vice versa.

Just curious, do you have a2a_feel.dll and FS Force running together on FSX? Does it crash there as well?

I will try your suggestion.

Yes, I have a2a_feel.dll and FS Force running together in FSX without any problems!

One more suggestion is to leave the FS Force DLL loading as normal, but switch the EXE to load manually. If P3D doesn't crash, then you just load the EXE from the Addons menu (or from the Start Menu).

Well, I'm sorry, I didn't understand how to proceed using your last suggestion.
Both files
- FSForce.dll
- FSForce.exe
are in folder C:\...... \FSForce 2\

When I start P3D evrything is running automatically, so I don't know what you mean.

Could you please give me a short step by step help.

- Start Profile Manager and go to the Options tab
- set FSForce.exe to Don't Launch
- leave FSForce.dll at Auto Launch
- try to start P3D
- if by chance it starts without crashing, then you can start FSForce.exe by using the Addons menu in P3D

It took some time to check the different suggestions from above.

Results:

- no success when changing the load order in DLL.XML

- no success with your latest advice:
set FSForce.exe to Don't Launch
leave FSForce.dll at Auto Launch

But then I had the idea to change the P3D starting sequence aircraft from P3D Maule (former default) to Alabeo C195 (default aircraft now)
and it works for me with A2A Accu-Feel active. :D
Now I'm able to change to any other aircraft without problems.

This is incomprehensibly in truest sense of the word. :?:
For sure not a "generally valid solution" at all but it works for me. I tried it many times now.

Russell, thank you very much for your patience and advice.
Your FS Force software is excellent.
