FS Force not reading DLL.xml/FSforce.dll not started by FSX

Post by Skwinty » Tue Oct 26, 2010 10:59 pm

My FSX Accelerated with FsForce is suddenly not working.
When I run the profiler and select the options tab the error message
"Error reading DLL.XML An invalid character was found in text cpntext.
Line 28 Character 20"

When starting FSX all goes well until you click Fly now, and after the database loads, FSX falls over and says FSforce.dll not started.
The Fsforce log reports "EXE SimConnect Client : Acceleration
Error reading key 'OverallGainPercentage' for Logitech controller"

I have run FSX Acc repair, deleted all instances of DLL.XML and replaced DLL.XML from the DVD.

No Joy, please help as I really don't want to do a re-install.

Thanks to all.

Sounds like your DLL.XML file is corrupted. Did you install any other addons recently?

1. Delete the DLL.XML and replace it with a clean copy from the DVD
2. Start Profile Manager and go to the options tab and make sure both are set to Auto Launch

If it still doesn't work, send DLL.XML to the support email address for FSForce and I'll have a look at it.

Where should the DLL.xml file be? Perhaps I have not replaced in the correct location.

Under XP, the file is located in Documents & Settings\<User>\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX.

Hi Dirk,
All sorted now and everything working.
Had to do a refresher on xml and concentrate on dll.xml as you said.
Thanks for a great product.
